If you have not heard of fantasy football then you need to leave the box that you have been living in for 10 years. It started with football nerds keeping track of stats in notebooks, and now it has turned into a cultural phenominon that has capitivated football fans everywhere.
the Kirby fanasty league currently houses 5 Kirby cousins. This week Kirby's dreamteam (my team) in the midst of a 5 game win streak faces off against the Cincinnatti Bow Ties (Sean) for a possible championship game preview. It's going to hurt to take you down dear cousin.
So all of this got me thinking about competition. The first question that came to mind was, who's the best golfer in the family? I think that I have the worst slice. I know that Uncle Dave has had the most lessons, and Uncle Don probably has the most insite and theories. And that the most beer drank is a toss up between Jim and Pete, but none of these answer the question.
Who is the best golfer in the Kirby Family?

There is an easy answer to that question. It is me of course! Lucas may take exception to that because every once in a while the sun shines on his ass and he beats me.
In the spirit of competition, I think a Kirby Golf Tournament is in order. Next Summer at a golf course yet to be determined, we should have the 1st Annual Kirby Golf Battle Royal (sponsored by Keystone Light)! I'm thinking winner gets name on a plaque and all, make it all official. If people are down, and you should be, let me know and I will try to figure this thang out.
I'm down - though i'm not sure about the sponser. I was thinking more like blue light. I'll "chip in" (get it) for the trophy and such since it will probably end up at my house anyway.
I think we should do captain and crew, except in 2's whatever that is called. names draw at random, if we get it started early enough then maybe we could get a course to ourselves for a day.
Any connections at Bethpage? hhaa
I am in. Sean and I were discussing the set up the other night. On one hand, I can see where pairs of Kirby's would be good. I know I could use someone to lessen the affect of my crappy play, but on the other hand, I can see the need for playing all by your self so that your Kirby supremacy is unchallenged.
Though, it has to be said that if Sean loses a pairs Kirby championship, it will the fault of his incompetent partner. Chuck Norris does not know defeat.
The beer question is also a tricky one. I can not see dad participating in an event that does not fully embrace the Keystone, it is the life blood that drives his golf game. It is my belief that the beer sponsorship is the most important question to answer before this any other question is considered.
I will be so bold and say it right now. I WILL WIN!
There is no way in hell Sean is the best Golfer in our family. He normally has a few good holes but then spends the rest of the day throwing clubs around and cussing like a sailor. I agree with Alex, in the pairs Idea. THis way less inept golfers (Eric) still have a chance and can contribute some shots to the team.
Lucas, did you mean more inept golfers (Eric). Dumbass!!!
BTW - I don't throw clubs anymore, I break them!
I would like to weigh in on this topic. I believe that Pete and Jim do drink the most and I dont think any other pair can claim to having driven a golf cart into a pond... That is something special.
Sean is right, now that he is a rich man, he can buy all the clubs he wants
